Why is America Number One?
Many Americans in this country would beg to differ when asked if they believe that America is the number one country in the world. This I believe, is an atrocity. America is one of the few places in the world where a person can start off with nothing and end up in the “upper class”. Our founding fathers have set up a government where every citizen has a say in what happens and how things are run. This is just one of the things that makes America one truly remarkable nation.
With more and more countries socializing healthcare, Americas healthcare system is unique. Any American that is diagnosed with some sort of illness, can start receiving treatments under their healthcare insurance. This is extremely different compared to some countries where you are put onto a waiting list to receive a treatment. In some cases, citizens die from the illness before their names reach the top of the list. This in fact, is the reason why foreigners come onto American soil to receive Americas cutting edge medical treatments.
Being an American citizen is something people in other countries strive to become. The fact that we can actually vote for what happens in our country, is a phenomenal perk. Countries like Cuba that are dictated and told what to do, have not only unhappy citizens , but an increase in violence. Actually having a voice in our government makes the standard of living and happiness in our country much higher than the standard in surrounding nations.
Another area America makes strides in is the safety and protection. We are lucky enough to not have genocide or a high amount of racial violence in our country like Africa does. We also have a n elite section of the government (military) that is dedicated to keeping us safe. Our military is one of the best in the entire world, which is made up of our very own citizens. That’s just another opportunity American citizens can take advantage of.
Regardless of what other fellow citizens might say, I believe America is truly number one for a million more reasons than stated in this paper. Americans get an infinite amount of opportunities in this country that other nations couldn’t imagine of seeing in there lifetime. This is what makes me proud to be an American.
i agree with everything your saying. America is definatly better than most of other countries out there. I wouldn't want to call America number one but i get what your getting at. i agree with what you are saying but i think american could be better in some sense.
I agree with you, saying America is number one. People here take it for granted of how lucky we are. Other countries do not have health care, protection, pubic services. In Africa, not all houses have running water, telephones, or even electricity. In the U.S all of these services are provided, all we have to do is pay the bill, which isn't that expensive. Outsiders of this country must think we are gluttons, we waste so much and don't even think anything of it.
